Masvingo Mwenezi man marries his own mother after impregnating her .

The Zimbabwe women Betty Mbereko (40) from Mwenezi in Masvingo married her son Farai Mbereko who is 23 years old. 

Betty and her son claim to be in love with each other and they decided to get married as the mother is 6 months pregnant for her son for his son . 

She confirmed that she is six months pregnant and decided to marry her son than to be forced to marry her late husband's brother's whom she says are converting her.

She stunned a village court last week when she said the affair begun three years earlier. " after spending a lot of money sending Farai to school I have the right to his money and no other women was entitled to it , I struggled alone to send my son to school and no one helped me , now my son is working and accuse me of doing something wrong let me enjoy the products of my sweet" , Betty told the village court council. 

Farai said he is prepared to marry his mother and pay off the lobola balance his father had left unpaid and is prepared to pay it off to his grandparents, " it is better to publicise what is happening because people should know that I'm responsible for my mothers pregnant otherwise they will accuse her of promiscuity. 

Local headman Nathan Muputirwa says we can't allow this to happen in our own village this is a bad omen indeed,  in the past they would have to be killed but today we can't do it because we are afraid of the police.

He warned them to immediately break marriage or leave his village.  They chose the later and left the village for an undisclosed destination.
