Fourty nine year old Dorothy Matongo  of NE 56 Vengere,  Rusape was stabbed by her  brother's wife Thandizile Kudzai Manhini aged 26  on the 8th of May 2024 after arguing about electricity usage.

Thandizile Manhini allegedly used a kitchen knife to stab Dorothy on the chest and she was taken to Rusape general hospital where they  transfered her to Victoria Chitepo hospital Mutare and unfortunetely, she died on the same day  while in transit  to Victoria Chitepo Hospital.  

In an interview with Gogo Marunda,  the household's next door, she said that she arrived on the scene when Dorothy was already stabbed and lying lifeless on the floor , the disagreements were  stated the previous day and the noises were heard as people were fighting .

The following message was posted in a Crime Alert WhatsApp group that was created by Rusape Rural and Urban police to Alert Rusape residents of crimes happening around them.

"A dispute arose at a certain household   in Vhengere over an issue concerning electricity usage. The complainant was pounced on with open fists and was referred for medical examination to establish the injuries, on going home ,the complainant's mother was later stabbed with a knife on the left side of the chest as well as at the back ,she was attended at Rusape General hospital and immediately referred to Mutare .They were ferried by ambulance and she died on the way before getting to mutare . Case has been reported and investigations are underway."
