Malaria Cases Increase Rapidly
Malaria cases increasing rapidly.The Ministry of Health has reported the rise of malaria cases with 271 patients and one death in the past week in the Mashonaland Central and Manicaland provinces.
The Ministry highlighted that 29 of those affected are young children under the age of 5.
The Ministry has planted many health officials mainly in the mostly affected areas who are educating on the use of bed nets and ensuring proper sanitation in communities to reduce mosquito breeding grounds.
The economic challenges are limiting access to prevention and treatment sources in some communities .
The Zimbabwean government is collaborating with international health organizations and working to scale up malaria control efforts said Doctor Joel Mapitse.
