Government aims to recruit 8 000 teachers this year.

Primary and Secondary Education Deputy Minister Angelina Gata said the recruitment process is already underway,  with the goal of hiring 4,000 teachers by the end of the first quarter, she said this at Southerton Primary school Harare  were she was dedicating a five room block  yesterday. 

The Zimbabwean government has started on an ambitious plan to recruit 8,000 teachers this year, with the initial phase involving 4,000 teachers. 

The government has started the process of recruiting 4 000 teachers. 

This effort aims to improve the country's education system, particularly by enhancing the teacher-learner ratio and addressing disparities between urban and rural educational environments .

The remaining 4,000 teachers will be recruited during the second term .

The government's initiative is expected to have a positive impact on the country's pass rates and overall education quality ,by creating a more favorable learning environment, 

The ministry hopes to increase pass rates and provide better educational outcomes for students across the country.

  Deputy Minister  Gata said "community involvement has also played a significant role in supporting education infrastructure development, , the Southerton community contributed to the construction of a new five-room block at Southerton Primary School, which ensures children's safety during the rain season .
