German Model Martina Big Plans Move to Africa After Skin-Darkening Procedure

German model Martina Big and her husband have undergone injections to darken their skin and say they plan to move to Africa to start a family.

Big, who adopted the Swahili name “Malaika Kubwa” as part of her transformation, confirmed the couple’s plans in recent media interviews. She said the decision reflects her personal identity and long-term goals.

Big first gained public attention in 2017 after using melanin injections, commonly called tanning injections, to change her skin tone. She and her husband, Michael Eurwen, have since stated they identify as Black and wish to live in Africa.

The couple has not announced a specific country or date for the move.

Skin-darkening injections are not approved by major health regulators, including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the European Medicines Agency.

Medical experts warn the products can carry risks, including changes in moles, nausea, and potential long-term health effects.

Big’s statements have drawn mixed reactions online, with debate over cultural identity, race, and cosmetic procedures.

Neither Big nor Eurwen has responded to requests for further comment at the time of publication.
