CAF President Calls for Unity Amidst AFCON Corruption Probe

Confederation of African Football (CAF) president Patrice Motsepe has welcomed an investigation into corruption at the organisation, saying they have nothing to hide.

This follows a meeting with Senegalese officials in Dakar, where he urged unity after Senegal was stripped of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title and awarded to Morocco.

Senegal's government demanded an investigation into corruption after the CAF Appeal Board's decision, citing unruly scenes in the January 18 final in Rabat.

Motsepe met with Senegalese Football Federation officials and President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, and will meet Moroccan officials next.

"I would welcome any investigation into corruption at CAF... We will give them our full cooperation," Motsepe said.

He emphasised zero tolerance for corruption, saying it's essential for African football's growth.

Motsepe refused to comment on the Senegal-Morocco dispute, now at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, citing respect for the process.

He denied Morocco received preferential treatment, saying "no country will be treated more favourably than others".

The CAF president expressed confidence that the organisation will emerge stronger and more united among Africa's 54 nations.
