Joshua Chirambwe Denies Sexual Harassment Allegations by Fadzayi Mahere

A Zimbabwean lawyer, Joshua Chirambwe, has strongly denied allegations of sexual harassment made by his colleague, Fadzayi Mahere. This response follows Mahere's complaint to the Law Society of Zimbabwe (LSZ) regarding inappropriate messages Chirambwe allegedly posted in a WhatsApp group they both belong to.

In her complaint, Mahere highlighted messages where Chirambwe expressed admiration for her and another woman in the group, stating, "You see, there is this woman I adore beyond words—let us say I am rather fond of Fadzi." He also described another woman's elegance, suggesting that her character was "sweet enough to make sugar."

Chirambwe, however, has asserted that he is happily married and does not have any romantic feelings towards Mahere. He emphasized his commitment to his marriage, stating, "I am blissfully united in matrimony with my dearest wife... she exemplifies excellence in her professional endeavors." He questioned why Mahere would assume he had any romantic intentions, reinforcing that his marriage is based on love, trust, and mutual respect.

The lawyer expressed confidence that the LSZ investigation will clear his name, maintaining that he has always acted professionally and respectfully towards his colleagues, including Mahere. He also mentioned that he and his wife share two children and that their marriage is filled with love and devotion.
