The Zimbabwe Republic Police Crime and Traffic Awareness Campaign team held community engagements this week at three locations in Mashonaland West.
Officers met with school pupils at Nemakonde High in Chinhoyi and Jameson High in Kadoma.
They also engaged miners and traditional leaders at Giant Mine in Chegutu.
The campaign focused on serious crimes affecting communities, including murder, rape, robbery, drug and substance abuse, and illegal mining activities.
Police used the sessions to explain the dangers of the crimes, how they affect victims and families, and what the law says about each offence.
Officers also encouraged learners, miners and community leaders to report crime and work with police to keep their areas safe.
The ZRP said similar awareness programs will continue in other schools and mining areas.
