Seven Highlanders Supporters Die in Road Crash
Seven fans of Highlanders FC were killed in a road accident on Friday along the Bulawayo-Gwanda highway, just hours after watching their team draw 0-0 with FC Platinum at Barbourfields Stadium.
The club has confirmed the tragic news, expressing deepest condolences to the families, friends, and loved ones of the victims.
"Highlanders FC extends its deepest condolences to the families, friends, and loved ones of the seven supporters who tragically lost their lives on Friday evening," the statement read.
The accident comes amid a wave of sorrow in Zimbabwe's football community, following the death of Dynamos FC supporter Ronald Mujuru's entire family in a separate car crash along the Harare-Masvingo highway last week, claiming his wife and five children.
