Alleged Assault of Disabled Student by Teachers Sparks Outrage After Video Circulates

An alleged incident of physical assault involving a Form 2 student from First Choice Private School in Waterfalls has triggered widespread public concern after video footage of the confrontation began circulating on social media.

The incident reportedly occurred during a school trip to Macheke. According to accounts from fellow students and witnesses, tensions arose when the school bus became overcrowded, leaving some learners without seats.

The student at the center of the incident is said to be living with a physical disability that affects his leg length, making it painful and difficult for him to stand for extended periods. Witnesses allege that he was forced to remain standing due to the lack of seating, which led to a minor dispute with another learner over space.

During the exchange, the student is reported to have used inappropriate language, allegedly directing the words “f*** you” at a teacher. Witnesses claim that instead of de-escalating the situation, three teachers intervened physically and allegedly assaulted the learner.

It is further alleged that the student sustained injuries during the confrontation, including a nosebleed, and later complained of severe headaches. A portion of the incident was captured on video, showing a chaotic and tense scene inside the bus, with raised voices and visible distress among learners.

The video has since prompted public outrage and calls for an investigation into the conduct of the teachers involved, as well as broader concerns about the treatment of students, particularly those living with disabilities, during school activities.
