ZRP Orders Immediate Removal of Officers’ Social Media Posts in Uniform

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has issued a nationwide directive ordering all officers to immediately delete any social media posts showing them in police uniform.

The order was delivered through an urgent radio signal sent to stations across the country by Deputy Commissioner General Learn Ncube, who oversees operations at police headquarters. Officers who fail to comply risk facing disciplinary action.

According to the directive, authorities have been closely monitoring online activity on platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, and WhatsApp, where officers have reportedly been sharing unauthorized content while in uniform. The conduct has been described as unprofessional and damaging to the image of the police service.

The instruction emphasizes immediate compliance, making it clear that all existing posts must be removed without delay. Provincial commanders have also been tasked with urgently briefing officers to ensure the directive is fully enforced across the country.
