Zimbabwe Republic Police Prioritizes Learner Safety as Schools Open for Third Term
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has issued a statement today emphasizing the importance of safety and security for learners as they return to school for the third term.
To ensure a secure environment for students, the ZRP has outlined several key directives and safety measures.
According to the statement, the ZRP has prohibited night travel for learners, citing the increased risk of road traffic accidents and other potential dangers.
Transport operators are required to ensure their vehicles are certified fit before transporting children to school.
Drivers are urged to exercise caution, avoid speeding, and comply with all road rules and regulations to prevent accidents.
Furthermore, school authorities and transporters are responsible for ensuring that buses and other forms of transport are not overloaded, which can also contribute to accidents.
The ZRP is working to provide a secure environment for students to focus on their education.
In addition to these measures, the ZRP has advised schools to deposit school fees and tuition-related costs with financial institutions to minimize the risk of robbery and theft.
Parents and guardians are also encouraged to prioritize their children's safety and security, reporting any suspicious activities to the police.
The ZRP emphasizes the importance of collaboration between parents, guardians, school authorities, and the public in ensuring the safety of learners as they return to school.
By working together, the police aim to provide a secure environment for students to thrive academically.
