ZIMCHE  Warns unregistered institutions.

The Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education (ZIMCHE) has issued a press statement warning against unregistered institutions that are operating unlawfully and conferring fraudulent degrees.

According to the statement released on March 23, 2025, ZIMCHE has identified several unregistered institutions engaging in illegal practices, including conferring fraudulent undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications.

These institutions are undermining the integrity and quality of Zimbabwe's higher education system, posing significant risks to the public.

ZIMCHE has also identified that some of these institutions are giving their students false titles, such as professor and doctor, and duping the public out of their hard-earned money.

ZIMCHE has warned unregistered institutions to cease operations immediately, withdraw all fraudulent qualifications, and desist from issuing fake degrees.

Individuals who have earned fake degrees are urged to stop using them, and those who continue to use them will face legal consequences, including civil and criminal prosecution.

To combat academic fraud, ZIMCHE will investigate unlawful activities and take appropriate legal measures against both unregistered institutions and individuals found complicit.

The public is urged to verify the accreditation status of institutions before enrolling.

ZIMCHE's mission is to uphold the integrity and quality of Zimbabwe's higher education system, and they are putting in efforts to maintain integrity and high-quality standards that have been built over decades.
