Heavy rains damage roads .
Heavy rains caused damage in Nyambiya village. The heavy rains that poured last night damaged the roads, making it hard for motorists.
Sadly, the road used by school children was destroyed, creating a big drain.
Speaking with villagers, said they are now escorting children to school due to concerns about their safety and lives.
Mrs. Kunze said they are taking kids to school because they have 5-year-old children in ECD who can't cross the damaged roads.
Mbuya Black said the rains poured last night, and for the first time this year, they were vigorous with lightning and thunderstorms, raining heavily.
The rains destroyed some houses and turned dusty roads into little rivers.
Headman Nyambiya said those who plowed their fields without rigging are suffering heavy losses as the crops and fields were washed away by heavy rains.
Allegedly, Headman Ziweya heard that a tree used for traditional ceremonies, such as the rain-making ceremony, was destroyed by lightning, but this is unconfirmed.
Nyambiya went on to say that while the rains destroyed the roads, villagers are happy because the borehole can now provide water, people were tired of walking long distances in search of clean water and drinking unprotected water.
