Redcliff Man Appears in Court for Robbery
A 20-year-old man from Redcliff appeared before Kwekwe Magistrates Court last Friday facing robbery charges.
According to the National Prosecution Authority of Zimbabwe, the accused approached the complainant at Chillux Night Club in Redcliff on March 15, 2025, at around 0100 hours.
The accused allegedly hit the complainant twice on the head, accusing him of urinating in an unauthorized area.
The complainant discovered that his Hisense cellphone and wallet, containing his identity card, had been stolen.
He attempted to follow the accused but failed to catch him.
The complainant encountered the accused again the following day at Karaga Bar and notified the police, leading to his arrest.
The total value of the stolen items is US$50, and nothing has been recovered yet.
The accused was remanded in custody until March 27, 2025, for trial.
