Beitbridge man in prison for attempted murder.
Beitbridge Magistrates Court yesterday sentenced 27-year-old Khulekhani Dube to 2.5 years in prison for attempted murder.
The incident occurred on February 7 at Malibeng Business Center, where Dube got into a dispute with a man who was a friend of the victim, 17-year-old January Ngwenya.
After the dispute, Dube attacked Ngwenya, striking him three times on the head with a tire lever, leaving him unconscious and severely injured.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe, Ngwenya was attacked for trying to resolve the fight between Dube and his friend.
Dube fled the scene after the assault, leaving Ngwenya injured.
Ngwenya was rushed to the hospital, and the incident was reported, leading to Dube's arrest.
