Nyazura man killed his pregnant wife over chocolate cravings.

A tragic incident occurred in Nyazura, where Gibson Nyambiya stabbed his pregnant wife to death with a knife.

Witnesses reported that during the stabbing, Nyambiya was saying, "Why do you always demand chocolates? I don't have the money to buy chocolates every day."

The couple had two children together, and villagers confirmed that they frequently fought.

The mother of the deceased, Mrs. Matsika, expressed regret and revealed that her daughter had complained about the abuse.

However, she had encouraged her to stay in the marriage, believing it was a normal part of married life.

Matsika also stated that Nyambiya's income was spent on beer, leaving his wife to rely on her family for financial support for groceries and other essentials.

The family was against divorce, which prevented Matsika from advising her daughter to leave the marriage.

This incident highlights the rising concern of domestic violence

Following another recent case where a man from Zvimba was sentenced to 15 years in prison for strangling his pregnant wife with an electric cable after she asked him for money to visit a health facility.
