CHIPINGE MAN CONVICTED FOR ASSAULTING 93 YEAR OLD FATHER 

A 54-year-old man from Mwasaya Village, Chipinge, has been convicted of domestic violence for assaulting his 93-year-old father.

 The incident occurred on February 23, 2025, at around 1 a.m., when the offender returned home, allegedly intoxicated, and began shouting at his father.

He then forcibly entered the room, destroyed property with a machete, and bit his father with a metal object, causing a deep cut. 


The elderly victim was taken to the hospital, medically examined, and a report was prepared as evidence.

The offender, who is unemployed and resides in the same village, was found guilty and sentenced to 210 hours of community service.
