Rusape Man Stabs Wife to Death
Douglas Rusere of Madechihwe village, Rusape, stabbed his wife to death after catching her with another man.
He stabbed her with a knife, and she died on the way to Rusape General Hospital for treatment.
Mbuya Madechihwe, a neighbor, said they relocated from Bocha to Rusape for better opportunities.
Rusere has two wives, and they have been having fights for the past few months.
Mbuya Madechihwe often acts as a mediator to help resolve their issues.
The husband claimed they always fought when he confronted her about rumors of an affair, but she defended herself, saying they were just rumors.
However, he was tipped off by others that the lover would visit when he was with his second wife.
Rusere pretended to go to his second wife, as it was her turn to be with him, and returned at midnight. When he caught the two together, he was overwhelmed with anger and rage.
He grabbed a knife from the bedroom and stabbed his wife.
The lover escaped, and Rusere also fled the scene.
According to his wife, Rusere left in a hurry, packed a few clothes into a bag, and said he would call later.
Sadunhu Mheyamwa, a local authority, expressed concern that he deals with infidelity cases weekly and is puzzled by the behavior of women in Rusape.
The incident was reported to the police.
